Amazon shipped it, but they are working on behalf of Samsung. Amazon would not be able to ship to another market without the permission of Samsung. Many products are not able to be shipped by Amazon to my location, and that's fine. This however, was able to ship to my location.

As far as I am concerned, Samsung is an international company that should be able to stand by its products. If this was an Apple Ring I would be able to visit and any Apple store and get it replaced.

I have an office job, the Ring has not been roughly treated and yet it has failed. This leads me to believe that it is a design flaw, or that there are defective parts. At a guess, I would say poor quality batteries, or not enough protection for the battery.

Hi,

I have been using Samsung ring for 6 months without issue. 2 weeks ago I started noticing that the battery life had gone from 5 days to about 20 hours. I reset the ring back to factory settings, but the problem persisted. Finally I checked the forum and saw that the only way forward was to return to a service centre.

I bought the Ring through Amazon and had it shipped to Macau, but now I have been told that the Ring is not covered under global warranty. Samsung were happy to sell and ship the Ring to me outside of the US, but they now won't support the device. The Ring is a wearable, it is meant to be worn and travel with the user. Why shouldn't it be covered by global warranty.

This is obviously a defect in the rings design and I am very disappointed that Samsung isn't looking after its customers.

The key word here is Amazon web page. Samsung has there store on Samsung website. If you buy from other than Samsung official website store your dealing with a 2nd or 3rd party reseller not Samsung Electronics. That store order is being fulfilled ,not by Samsung but by 2nd or 3rd party reseller.

Buying from a reseller it's good thinking to buy a warranty.

Cheers
3Fees

Samsung should stand by their products, not try to worm out of a design flaw or substandard parts. The Ring didn't last 6 months.

On the Amazon site at purchase it said 12 months warranty. I assumed this would mean 12 months of warranty, not "sorry our product failed after 5 months, but due to a technicality we won't be honouring our agreement."

I'm a long term Samsung user, but this has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Thank you for reaching out. I can certainly understand your frustration with not being able to get your Galaxy Ring cover under warranty. However, per our Warranty Website for US products: Samsung limits service for smartphones, tablets, and wearable devices to the country where the product was first sold.

However, if you need service for a Samsung smartphone, tablet, or wearable device purchased in a country other than the country in which you intend to have your device repaired. Please use this link for additional warranty on US products: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/warranty/

We would be able to repair your ring, but you would be responsible for the cost of shipping the item to the US for repair as well as having a US address for the ring to be returned to upon completion of the repair. If you are interested in setting your device up for service, I would recommend contacting our customer service team directly at 1-800-726-7864 for further assistance.
