Fingerprint sensor wont work

Hi I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus, it's on the latest Android 14 and latest security update.

I just got it used and I can't get the fingerprint sensor to recognize any of my fingers.

It takes forever to set fingers and doesn't work at all once I try to use it.

It keeps telling me to make sure that the fingerprint sensor isn't dirty but it's perfectly clean.

Any suggestions???

Do you have a screen protector installed on the device?

If so Make sure it has a little circle around where the fingerprint sensor should be.

If it does not then that screen protector is not the correct one for that phone, and will stop it from registering correctly.

yeah, the store I got if from put one on, I want it back up there and they gave me the right one now it works perfectly.

Sounds like a hardware issue, especially if setup is slow and it never works. Try deleting all fingerprints, restart the phone, and try again. If that doesn’t help, it’s likely a faulty sensor, you may need to get it checked or replaced.
