Samsung's phone update policy is disappointing

I have a Samsung S21 that came out in 2022, but Samsung won't allow me to upgrade it to Android 15 or 16. A 3 year old phone. Apparently the S22 and the s23 can't upgrade past Android 14 either. FairPhones and Apple phones are upgradable for 7-8 years. I've been a Samsung customer for at least 10 years. I will never buy a Samsung again.

Wasn't until the s24 series i believe when the period of support was increased nothing criminal

First of all the S21 was released in 2021, the S21 series last OS upgrade is Android 15. That because the update isn't out for the Galaxy S22 series and rolling out slowly for the Galaxy S23 series.

With all due respect when you purchased your device in the published spec sheet it clearly states how many years of updates the phone will receive. Before the s24 series , it was 3 years of OS, 4 years of security patches.

If you didn't research the phone you were purchasing that's on you, not Samsung.

You have one more OS, and an extra year of security patches.

I can't upgrade a barely 3 year old phone! That's criminal. Fairphone and Apple have always had 7-8 years. Even my Note 9 was longer. Samsung is a bunch of corporate crooks.
