The phone will continue to ask you to update and after I believe 3 attempts to update and begin delaying the update it will automatically update the device.

if you stay with one ui 6.0 then the advantage:

You can use DeX to your PC/Laptop, because this feature removed in One UI 7 and you have to use Phone Link + Link to Windows to mirror your phone to Windows PC, so staying with One UI 6.0 is nice if you rely DeX a lot
you can use Game Plugins, game booster plus, creator gif as usual, again these features removed in One UI 7, there's a new app on One UI 7 called Game Booster + (with + symbol) but it's not as compete as Game plugins was
better battery life, some say One UI 7 drain more battery then One UI 6 was
better battery icon

if you upgrade to One UI 7:

Home Up DIY, one of Good Lock module, personally i like this one
Ability to switch off 2G connection
Ability to choose charge up to 80%/85%/90%/95% under maximum battery protection
separated notification and quick settings (i know most people hate this, but i truly love this one)
Identity check, this one Android 15 feature, so if someone else tried to change my sensitive data (such as password) then that someone should have enter my fingerprint too

It's been saying no software for like once a week for over a year. I think it's because it's at@t phone on Verizon network

Yeah that would be the issue it’s still trying to pull updates from the AT&T Server you would need to try Smartswitch on a PC to update your device.

I think I am better off with android 14. Phone runs perfect. Smartswitch didn't work for me. It's seems happy with android 14 and doesn't want to change

Just remember you won’t receive any security updates until it’s updated and you may start to lose access to some apps that require these updates.

Simply, you won't really get any updates, as your phone is made for a specific carrier, but you use carrier B. So the update process is complicated. You will not be able to get One Ui7, unless flashed.
