No bought from a friend who said they got it from Verizon I got it back in Nov, 2024

This is weird because it looks like it was originally a Verizon phone.

If you have access to a computer, try updating through Smart Switch. See "software update via Smart Switch on your Windows PC or Mac" on this page:

I've talked to Verizon and trac phone both and they just keep telling me it's updated but the phone hasn't updated

And when I go to update system it says it's up to date but I go to system and privacy it says it needs to be updated

Are you using a TracFone SIM? Do you know someone with a Verizon SIM that you could borrow to get the updates?

No but trac phone is version cause the phone was locked when I got it and only to get it to work was through Verizon or trac phone

If your using trac phone Sim that would be reasin its not updating its looking for verizon Sim yes phones get picky anyway smartswitch good option

No, because Samsung relies on carriers to push the updates. The only devices that get updates directly from Samsung are WiFi-only devices, like tablets.

I was about the factory reset my phone to see if that would work but I really don't want to do that

Try Smart Switch first. You can buy a cheap prepaid Verizon SIM if that doesn't work. Hang onto it and put it in the phone for future updates. It doesn't need active service. Just a connection to the correct update servers.
