Can not check for updates

Updated to One UI8 a week ago but now when I check for updates I get this error message

According to your "last update" info, your phone was updated two weeks ago. I'm pretty sure there haven't been any updates available since then.

Yes but previous to this I would receive a message stating no update. Not an error message like this.
This also now appears on my wife's phone.

Do you think the endless app for smart switch would remedy your error message and push the update?

If you both have T-Mobile, there may be a temporary problem with the update server. I wouldn't worry about it until another update is available.

There is currently no update so not sure if smart switch would show. I did check.
Just odd use to get up to date not an error

What phone model is it? Did you try using data? Do you have enough storage as that can prevent updates, i think. Did you clear your cache partition after the update? Maybe change your dns? My update was December 1. Whatever you do, i would backup your phone before updating etc. Strange. 😮

Well I updated to 1ui8 and have issue. But my other phone still on 1ui7 and it also has the issue.
So it doesn't seem 1ui8 related

Read entire posting. One phone was not updated and I should NOT get a server error when checking for an update. Just an up to date message

Then I suggest you contact T-Mobile, since they're the ones who make the updates available.

All I did contact T-Mobile and they were of no help.
Trying to update wife's phone which has not been updated to December patch level using Samsung sync. Gets to 4% copying update and stops. Letting go a bit longer to see what happens.
So through the smart sync on PC it knows it needs an update

Yeah my guess for me is S21 and below stop getting updates after 1UI8.
BUT S21 FE get 8.5!
T-Mobile **bleep** up

Well just to add I still can not update my phone's software through settings.
No I understand that the S21FE is on a quarterly update cycle so perhaps that's why.
BUT I can update it monthly through Smart Switch.
