Wi-Fi won't stay connected since update.

Can't find the right answer. My Galaxy S21 5G took an update and hasn't been able to hold the wifi connection since. Tried ALL the suggested fixes and no joy. It's not that it simply drops the connection, the wifi button turns off. Becomes subdued, so there is no automatic reset. I'll touch the button to connect again and it just spins. There needs to be a patch soon I'll be forced to buy a new phone, and sure as **bleep** won't be a Samsung.

Sorry you're experiencing this.

Please specify what fixes you have tried. There may be something you have not considered that members here can offer you.

Worst case scenario, you can visit a certified Samsung repair center to diagnose the issue and have any necessary repairs completed.

Check your wifi provider. It Might be slow. Spectrum put a booster on my on my wifi and boom, its been great...

Thanks, but I've got plenty of wifi. Everything else works fine. And it doesn't explain why the switch keeps turning itself off, not just dropping the connection.

I did all these except for a factory reset. I don't won't to lose my apps and other stored info. I'm sure I'm not the only experiencing this problem. Everything worked fine until the last update. There needs to be a patch released.

1. Restart Your Device

Simple Restart: This can often resolve minor software issues.

2. Check Wi-Fi Settings

Forget and Reconnect: Go to Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi, tap your network, and select Forget Network. Reconnect by entering the password again.
Disable Wi-Fi Optimization: In the Wi-Fi settings, tap on the three dots in the upper right corner to access Advanced, then turn off Wi-Fi Optimization.

3. Reset Network Settings

Navigate to Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset Wi-Fi, mobile data, and Bluetooth settings.

4. Update Software

Check for any software updates: Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Keeping your device up-to-date can resolve known issues.

5. Reboot Your Router

Restart your Wi-Fi router to reset any potential problems with the connection.

6. Change Router Settings

Frequency Band: If your router supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, try connecting to a different band.
Channel Settings: Access your router settings and change the Wi-Fi channel for less interference.

7. Check for Interference

Ensure there are no physical obstructions or devices near the router that may interfere with the signal (like microwaves or cordless phones).

8. Test in Safe Mode

Boot your device in Safe Mode to see if any third-party apps are causing the issue. To enter Safe Mode, press and hold the Power button, tap and hold the Power off option, and then select Safe Mode.

9. Factory Reset

Nothing about Wi-Fi providers or anything they misleading you,

It's a problem with Galaxy UI 7.0
It's supposed to be to save battery that the system should shut off the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when not used but it's a total failure Samsung wall would not take the apply they would say it's a memory board issue since this is an old phone they want you to upgrade,

I checked my Wi-Fi connection history and I see it was turned off by UI system
callBy=com.android.systemui or com.android.settings: Indicates which internal Android component initiated the action

It's very annoying and it happens to all of us since this is all model galaxy won't do anything to fix
Don't be resolution you can do is you can switch it to battery saver which enters in a different UI model and you can switch it back but it doesn't eliminate the problem just the temporary fix

I have the same issue. I don't think it has anything to do with the router because it is a problem no matter where I am. Super troubling.

Hi all, my wifi+Bluetooth connections have been very unstable for some weeks now and it seems to be getting worse. As I type this message, I had two drop outs that required me to re-enable wifi and Bluetooth. This has made wireless Android Auto especially terrible to use when it drops out since I can't safely intervene while driving.

So far I have tried a full reset of wifi+Bluetooth settings, rebooted into the side button+volume up button and cleared boot cache, and I tested the phone using the Members app tool. The tool shows nothing wrong. This seems to be a software issue since its happening to lots of s21U users lately, I'm hoping this can be acknowledged so it can be investigated and fixed. I want to get back to enjoying my otherwise excellent phone. Thank you

This is directly a Samsung software issue since the upgrade to Ui7 and Samsung doesn't care. They want you to get a new phone. I have tried everything short of a full phone reset to fix the wifi/bluetooth issue and nothing works. I will be getting a new phone and it sure in the **bleep** won't be a Samsung. I'm looking at a Pixel or a OnePlus. I won't be getting a Samsung ever again.

This has been the worst thing since I've been getting Samsung phones. The crazy thing is that I still have my Note 10 as a second phone, and there's no issues with connections or wifi. On my S21 ultra, it just keeps dropping and has been a headache. No matter what you do, you can't keep the bluetooth or wifi connected. I'm not ready to get a new phone, but I seem like I will have to in order to connect to my devices.

I'm having the same issue with my S21 Ultra since they forced a UI update on me back in October. I reset my phone probably 10-20 times per day (sometimes more) to get the wifi and Bluetooth to work again. Been a Samsung customer for 11 years. I'm not getting a Samsung as soon as I trash this **bleep** phone. Worked great until October. It's a shame.

Mine is the same exact way. This is my old phone and I have just been using it temporarily since I am getting a new apple phone, but Jesus. I updated it the other day and I have had zero issues the week prior to using it UNTIL I decided to update it. Now, no matter what I do, it just refuses to connect to my Wifi! This is probably the worst bug Samsung has had, and I am so annoyed. I regret thinking it was a smart idea to update it... I really hope this gets fixed.

This is getting really annoying I paid $1,500 for my phone, I have to pay extra gigs the last 2 months, and I can't use my Bluetooth anymore because it's cutting off in the middle of a conversation total disaster

Same issue. Incredibly annoying. Seems you can have WiFi or Bluetooth but not both.

Update, this issue is getting progressively worse. Today my wifi will not longer turn on at all even after restarting, and my bluetooth is now struggling to maintain stability. I think this is faulty hardware at this point, but since its soldered to the board, its going to cost more than the phone is worth to repair it.

This is not a router issue. It's definitely a software or hardware issue. Either the wifi/Bluetooth chip is burning out or there is a bad update that is causing it all to spaz out. So far I've tried almost everything except for factory reset. If the chip is in fact messed up, that won't help anyway.

Hey y'all, I'm experiencing the same exact issues many of you are. WiFi and Bluetooth keep toggling on and off, but mostly off and you can sit there watching it self toggle. Maddening! I tried all the other stuff, other than system reset. I THINK I figured out a solution. Toggle your Power Saver on. It seems to bypass the signal going to it from the faulty update. It's been 3 hours and so far, they are both on still. 🤞🏻

Same. I've done everything, cleared the partitian cache and still a failed wifi connection and no bluetooth. Oddly, the only way I can ever reconnect to either is to leave my home and drive down the street. Suddenly my bluetooth connects and the wifi button is no longer pale blue and unclickable. I usually have to connect to yhe wifi at my job. It's ridiculous. Samsung has always been reliable but since they've been using this one ui software it's gone to **bleep**. I hate it. My next phone won't be another Samsung. Too bad LG is gone. Best phones for a reasonable price IMO.
