When my son texts me it doesn't notify me. All notifications are unblocked.

All notifications are on. When my son messages me it doesn't notify me. Under his text is a bell with a line through it. How do I fix that?

Would be helpful to know which app that you're using to text, Samsung Messages, Google Messages, or another app.

A screenshot would be appreciated as well.

I'm not sure. My son's calls ring thru but as I said his msg's come thru it just doesn't notify me.

@userxe7Nscsuiz In the Contacts app, open your son's contact card. Click the 3 dots in lower right. In the menu do you see "Unblock contact"? If so, click it to unblock your son.

I think the messages are muted, try tapping that bell icon to see I'd anything changes, or if it goes to a different menu, send a screenshot. I'll try things on my end as well.

I think this icon changed between the oneUI 6.1 TO 7 update, but if you tap the options in the chat menu, there should be a slide-in menu that looks like this: try tapping the bell icon. Does that fix it?

Tapping the bell gives me no options, it just stays dark with that stripe thru it. I've ck'd every app to make sure all notifications are on. I noticed under notifications in my messages app message notifications is optimal. But I can't enable it. However I get msg notifications from everyone except him

I can't find a chat menu. Call & text msg notifications is turned on. Only his msg's don't notify me. I press the bell icon under his text msg's & u can't undo it.

He's not blocked. It asks me if I want to block him.

Tapping the bell by the text, or I the menu? If you look at the images I sent above, you should be able to enable notifications again

I sincerely Thank each 1 of u who tried to help me. I ended up calling Samsung Tech & he helped me get rid of the bell. Since then I have recv'd text notifications from my son. Just don't ask me how to do it again cause I don't remember 🤷
