I have been using S22 ultra Model -SM-S908UI, after updating it to ONE UI 7, I am facing ghost touching problems in the bottom part of the device, it seems someone is touching it (Back and Home). It runs just fine for 5 or 10 minutes after restarting the device, but the same problem occurs.

What I have done so far:

1. Factory Reset

2. Accidental Touch on

3. Touch Sensitivity Off

4. Double tap to wake up off

5. I do not have any Screen protector ON.

Please help me out.

Thanks

You're definitely not alone — a number of S22 Ultra users (model SM-S908U1) have reported ghost touch issues (especially near the navigation bar) after the One UI 7 (Android 14) update. Given what you've already tried, here are a few targeted solutions and workarounds that may help:

✅ Step-by-Step Fixes You Can Try Now: 1. Boot in Safe Mode (Check for Software Conflict)

This will temporarily disable third-party apps and help you confirm if it’s a software issue.

How to boot into Safe Mode:

Press and hold the power button until the power menu appears.

Tap and hold "Power off" until "Safe Mode" appears.

Tap Safe Mode to confirm.

Use the phone for 10–20 minutes and see if ghost touches still happen.

💡 If the issue stops in Safe Mode, a third-party app is likely the cause. Try uninstalling recently updated or unnecessary apps.

2. Disable Gesture Hints and Switch to Buttons (If Using Gestures)

Some users reported ghost touches are worse with gesture navigation after the update.

Settings > Display > Navigation bar

Switch to Buttons (if on gestures)

Toggle off Gesture Hints if you prefer gestures

3. Install Samsung’s Good Lock + Multistar Module (Workaround)

You can remap or disable the Home and Back buttons temporarily to prevent ghost activation.

Download Good Lock from Galaxy Store

Install Multistar module

Use it to customize navigation bar behavior or switch to floating buttons

4. Update All System Apps via Galaxy Store

Sometimes a system service causes touch conflicts after a major update. Do this:

Open Galaxy Store

Tap Menu > Updates

Update all Samsung apps (especially Samsung Keyboard, System UI, and Device Care)

5. Use Samsung Members Diagnostic Tool

You can check if the digitizer hardware is being triggered falsely.

Open Samsung Members app

Tap “Get Help” > Diagnostics > Touch screen

Run the test. If touches show up on their own, take screenshots to show support.

6. Temporary Workaround – Partial Screen Block (Edge Panel App)

Some users use "EdgeTouch" or "EdgeBlock" apps to block certain screen zones.

Try apps like Touch Blocker or Edge Control from Galaxy/Play Store

Configure to block bottom area (where ghost touches occur)

7. Request Warranty or Service Center Repair

If this is a hardware issue that coincidentally worsened with the update, Samsung may still honor repairs if:

You have Samsung Care+, or

Your phone is less than 3 years old (warranty can apply in some cases for manufacturer defects)

Contact:
🔧 Samsung Support: Settings > Support > Contact us

💬 Final Thoughts

This issue is sadly not rare, and seems to be a touch firmware bug or kernel-level regression in One UI 7 for some S22 Ultra units. You've done a great job narrowing it down already — the next steps are to verify if it's hardware or software using Safe Mode, diagnostics, and possibly a workaround app while we wait for a patch.

Let me know if you'd like help with:

Contacting Samsung support with specific evidence

Recreating the issue in video or screenshots to help get a faster warranty claim

You're not alone, and this shouldn't be accepted as normal behavior — even post-update.

same thing is happening to my phone. I haven't factory reset yet because have so much to back up =/ but it is ever since I've had this update. Edge Sensitivity off, screen protector off, accidental touch on, screen clean, no water damage, nothing wrong with charger. This is whatever software was recently installed. Samsung help us out!
