How do I manually enter esim verification code?

My sons are in Spain. They bought esims and have a verification code but there does not seem to be a way to enter them. Samsung says go to settings>connections>SIM manager>add esim>scan qr code>gallery > and select "enter activation code", but this option does not exist, only select a picture or screen shot. They are trying to contact support of the esim but I though I'd try here as well.

Check the activation code in the email you provided for the activation.

They have the code but no place on their s22 phones to enter it to activate

One possibility worth trying is to find a QR code generator online that will let you embed the verification code, then pull that QR code from the gallery of the target phone.

They got it figured out with help from the esim company tech support. They were sent QR codes.
