Random spam adding things to my calendar

I have been noticing things appearing on my calendar from various anti-virus programs. They tell me that my subscription has been renewed. I know these are fake but it bothers me that they are able to post things to my calendar.

A number of months ago and again yesterday an item was as added to my calendar notifying me of an automatic payment of $400 to keep " my account" active for the next 5 years. There were, of course, links embedded to verify my account. Yesterday's had more "info" and looked to be from a different company but was similar in intent.

I deleted it immediately but have concerns.

How did this happen?

What steps should I take?

I verified that there wasnt a automatic payment from my account.

Should I consider and treat this the same as I do email phishing attempts?

Yes, it's a phishing attempt. If it's a calendar that's associated with a Google account, that's the source.

This is a new phish that sucks! First phone, then email, then text, and now calendar. They (scammers ) are so invasive, like weeds. I suspected it was Google also. Sent them a complaint message.

@RedonRed To stop these from your Google calendar:

Open Google Calendar.
Click the gear icon and select Settings in the upper right part of the screen.
Under Event settings, change Add invitations to my calendar to either Only if the sender is known or When I respond to the invitation email. (The default setting is From everyone, which will add any invite to your calendar.)
Uncheck Show events automatically created by Gmail if you want to stop Gmail from adding to your calendar on its own.

I'm starting to get spam in my calendar similar to to those emails that confirm a phantom payment or charge, but they're appearing in my phone calendar. How to prevent this from continuing?

Odd Items on Calendar

Hello,

So far yesterday and today there are calendar events on my calendar that I did not add and did I did not set up as an automatic ad. These entries tell me that a specific product has been purchased or specific service has been purchased and then it gives an amount that I will be debited. I've checked my accounts and there's hasn't been any debits thank goodness. Is anyone else getting these? I have sent feedback but you know it probably goes into some weird mailbox somewhere and nobody looks at it.

Me too I'm getting spam on my calendar the purchase of a service or whatnot at an amount and a number and all that which I will not be calling. I have a Galaxy s23 Ultra. I'm going to try shutting it down and then bring it back up sometimes temporary tracking or whatever kind of gets removed and it resolves things sometimes I don't know what else to do maybe possibly uninstall and reinstall the app.

Hi everybody I've got a Samsung s23 Ultra and I've been getting the same thing. It advises me that my service is about to start and the cost of whatever amount will be deducted from my account. I checked all of my accounts and no deductions have taken place. It has phone numbers and links and stuff within it and of course I'm not calling any of the phone numbers and I'm not clicking on any of the links. It's really a sad time when phishing g is entering your calendar.

There is a macafee renewal subscription renewal for something I never asked for and states its going to charge me over 500.00 tomorrow

Spam in calendar!??

Is anyone else getting spam/fishing entries on their Samsung calendar? It shows up as a regular event but it's saying some payment due will be auto deducted from acct blah blah blah. Looks like spam email, but in a calendar entry.

Happens about once a week now. Started out as once a month or so.

I'm using the TabA11+ (SM-X230), and those instructions are not helpful as I don't have the google calendar app 🙏
I'm using the Calendar app supplied with the tablet, and still getting invites from my hotmail (Outlook/Live) spam folder automatically accepted and added to my calendar. Any thoughts? 🤔
