My S22 ultra is set to maximum setting on everything. Extra brightness is on and adaptive brightness is off. Why does my screen brightness still dim and go back bright? Why doesn't it stay on max brightness? I don't understand why it's dimming all the time. Anyone have this issue? Is there a reason for this? Does this happen when the phone gets warm/hot to help it cools down? I need answers!

Check to make sure that the proximity sensor is not blocked by a case or cover on your screen. If you find that the display dims automatically and you'd like to increase the brightness, try deactivating the Adaptive brightness feature to control the screen brightness yourself. 1 Go to "Settings".

Adaptive brightness works on the proximity sensor, so Check the proximity sensor; maybe it is hidden by a safety case or cover, dust, and more. Check and turn off the Adaptive brightness setting. Increase the screen timeout.

Regards,

Diana

<!--

Has a soluction been found? I am having the same problem with my Samsung 22 Ultra. Adaptive brightness is off, Extra brightness is on and Brightness is at Max, extra dim setting is off. Phone is not hot and battery is not low. Even if I turn on and off the settings it continues to stay dim. I've already had my phone replaced 3 times under warranty and it continues to do the same. I was told it was probably a setting or something that was transferred over when restoring the replacement but it continued to happen without the restore. Verizon isnt able to help but send replacement phones.

I also have this issue, i have my older s20+ with me. I set both phones and disabled adaptive brightness, extra brightness enabled and screen mode set to natural. I can clearly see my s20+ screen is so much brighter. My s22 ultra has the latest april security update btw. S20+ is still on March security update.
