I am very sorry to hear you and @pnjf are getting locked out of your phones out of seemingly nowhere, and can understand the inconvenience and frustration this brings. Since accidental touch protection is on, other steps should be tried.

First, I would try changing your unlock method and see if the behavior persists. If it doesn't, see if switching it back to your previous settings helped as well. I would also try turning off and back on the accidental touch protection. Here's a handy guide with steps and more: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00078955/

If that does not help, the next thing to try is clearing your device's cache partition through recovery mode. You can do so by pressing and holding power button + volume down until it resets itself. Once it resets, quickly hold power + volume up, and release once the Samsung logo appears. After that, just use the volume up and down keys to select "Wipe cache partition", then press power to proceed with it.

If clearing device cache partition did not resolve this, the next thing is to see if a third-party application is causing this behavior in your device. You can utilize this guide for Safe Mode: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062983/

If it behaves the same in Safe Mode, is it likely not a third-party application at fault, and the next thing to try is a factory reset. Before doing so, please use this guide on backing up your data ( https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00060517/ ) so you do not lose them permanently, as a factory reset wipes the device of everything that doesn't come pre-installed. The guide for performing the factory reset is here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062029/

If the above troubleshooting did not resolve the locking behavior, it may be time to get the phone looked at by a certified technician. For service in the U.S., you can take the phone to a local U.S. walk-in service location https://www.ubreakifix.com/samsung or to ship the phone in for service, please reach out to us via one of the following options: 1.
