Unable to receive text messages from a Note 9 using Samsung messages app

Out of nowhere my s22 ultra can't receive a text message from a note 9 using Samsung messages app on both phones. I can send to ithe note 9 and the person receives it just fine but I can't receive anything from that person. If I switch to Google messages which I also have on my phone it works fine. I've deleted the cache and the storage and it didn't help. The number is not blocked on either phone so I have no idea why I can't receive the text message. It just started happening . The weird thing is if I switch the default app to Google messages not only will it work but all the messages I didn't get will populate. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

If you're switching from Google Messages to Samsung Messages and aren't receiving texts, the most likely solution is to turn off RCS (Rich Communication Services) in your Google Messages settings before switching to the Samsung app, as this can sometimes cause compatibility issues between different messaging apps. Open the Google Messages app, Go to Settings, Select "RCS chats", and Toggle the "RCS chats" option to off. Then go back to Samsung messages and make default and should receive texts.

Thank you for that info.. Just got a chance to check that. After a software update from Samsung (security patch) I switched off the RCS in google messages.. It seems to have solved the problem of the moment.
