Do you have double tap screen and/or lift to wake on? Go into Settings/advanced features/motions and gestures and make sure whatever app you had installed did not turn off any of the wake-up gestures. Make sure Lift to Wake is on and Double Tap to turn on screen is on. If that does not help, try deleting the phone's cache partition.

1. Power off your phone. Hold Power and vol up buttons until Samsung Logo appears

2. Let go of both buttons when you see the Samsung Logo appear on screen. There will be a delay while it enters recovery mode.

3. Use the volume buttons to navigate through recovery menu options and highlight “Wipe Cache Partition.” Press power button to select this option . Confirm by navigating to the yes response and tapping the power button to select.

5 .When wiping cache partition is complete, "reboot system now" should be highlighted; press power key to select it. The phone will reboot as normal.

If all else fails, you may have to factory reset. Make sure you have a current backup before you do (your phone should backup automatically every night) by going to settings/accounts and backup/Samsung Cloud and tapping on restore data and see the last date your phone was backed up. If you have a current backup, proceed with the factory reset. If you do not have a current backup, choose backup data. Restoring your backup will bring back the program you uninstalled, but may not repeat the issue, as it may not have been the program itself that caused the problem but some other entanglement with the program.
