    <description>I'm hoping you won't lose everything. What that option means is that it will clear data for the apps on the phone, meaning that they'll be reset as if you just installed them from the Play Store. Your user data should still be intact. &lt;span class="lia-unicode-emoji" title=":crossed_fingers:"&gt;🤞&lt;/span&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If it works and your phone is able to boot sort of properly, you should connect it to a computer and copy your user data to a hard drive or flash drive.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;At some point, you'll have to perform a factory reset on your phone. It will probably be a pain, but it's the only way to fix whatever's currently broken.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;My phone must have received an update last night.&amp;nbsp; It keeps freezing and shutting down and now it won't restart without erasing ALL APP DATA.&amp;nbsp; I'm extremely frustrated.&amp;nbsp; I'm flying out of town tomorrow and this is NOT the time.&amp;nbsp; What is this one UI thing?&amp;nbsp; I noticed something on my phone about it today and all of a sudden, I have NO PHONE.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>Try these steps and report back, please:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1) Turn off your device.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;2) Press and hold the Volume Up button and the Side/Power button until you feel a vibration and the Samsung logo appears. Let go of the buttons.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;3) You will now be in Android recovery. Use the Volume buttons to highlight "Wipe cache partition."&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;4) Press the Side/Power button to execute.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;5) Use the Volume buttons to highlight "Yes."&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;6) Press the Side/Power button to execute.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;7) "Reboot system now" will already be highlighted. Press the Side/Power button to execute.</description>

      <description>Doesn't sound like you're in recovery. I'm not sure what those options are from. What happens if you power off, let it sit for a minute, and power back on again?</description>

      <description>So unfortunately, your update didn't install properly and the phone is now having fits. If you choose option 2, it will attempt to reset your apps so that you can at least boot into safe mode and pull data off your phone. The next step would be to perform a factory reset and copy your saved data back to the phone.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;None of this will be a quick fix. Definitely not something you want to attempt tonight, as you're traveling tomorrow. Do you have another phone that you can use temporarily?</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Well interestingly enough, I repeated the steps for the millionth time (same thing I've been doing for the past three hours, lol) and it went to the screen with "wipe cache partition".&amp;nbsp; I followed your suggested steps, and guess what?&amp;nbsp; It's right back to the android recovery screen.&amp;nbsp; I don't know what else to do, my flight leaves at 6:52 am, I don't have another phone to use. I'm assuming I will just have to try your option above and lose everything.&amp;nbsp; I have to have a phone.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>**bleep**, sounds like the phone isn't going to boot. There's not much you can do right now. Somebody has to look at it. I'd advise taking it to your carrier if you weren't traveling. Are you able to get a prepaid phone from Walmart or somewhere so that you can at least communicate with people?</description>
