Turn Off Proximity Sensor - Screen Turns Off When Making Calls

My phone screen turns off each time I make a call. Is there any way to disable this behavior on the S23? I tried disabling the "double tap to turn off screen" option in Advanced Features but this made no difference. I also took the phone to the TMobile store and the employee there was unable to set it so the screen stays on during calls. Please help.

It will always turn off the screen after a short period of time or when you put it close to you. When the screen is turned off during a call, just tap the screen 2 times to turn on or move it away from your head. The double tap to turn off in advanced features is a feature in which only works whenever you are in the HOME SCREEN and LOCK SCREEN.
