Any 5a minimum rated cable technically works, I've long since switched to a 10ft long 6a rated and shielded cable with a nice braided exterior and supports at each end to protect from extreme bends. I can't do the tiny 2ft OEM cables that come with the phone, I can walk around and reach everything I need in my bedroom with this 10 footer lol I have 2 since I have 2 45w chargers. Longer cables are a godsend. But yes, you are absolutely correct that the 45w brick needs to be at least rated for a consistent 5a for use and for safety! Thankfully, most aftermarket mfg's on like Amazon selling the 45w charger include some sort of cable that is safe to use, but not all of them! If they don't specify it then I wouldn't trust it. I always buy the charger and cable separately as I've found my favorite cable supplier and their ratings are spot on.
