Keep receiving notifications on Old already opened FB messages. Messages repeating at 10 minute intervals

Go to Facebook messenger click three lines at top left. Click setting icon. Go to notifications and sounds and under Friends heading you can toggle message reminders. I just fixed it myself it was annoying me bad.
