App issues with the edge panel?

I use the edge panel a lot to open apps and it doesn't work most of the time for some reason, started happening only recently maybe a month back or less and fix is to reboot the phone and I keep getting sick of doing that. To describe the issue more specifically the apps do show on the panel it's just that when I click nothing happens.

Not having issues but I love that slide. I think the s8 had it first. I never even turned it on never used it. Which I know now was my loss. The s9 was win I started using it and don't know what I'd do without it. But again answers to your question. never have had any issue with it. Love it

People Edge Not Working after Upgrade to One UI 6.0 Android 14

My phone just upgraded earlier this week and it went very well. The People Edge panel lost all of it's contacts (was only like 6). When I go to add them, I can select contacts, but when I hit "Done" nothing happens. I just can't add any contacts to the People Edge.

Found this thread searching for solution. Edge disappeared with the update. If I turn it off and on, it temporarily reappears.

Following. Similar issue for me after the update. One contact came off my edge panel and I can not put it back on. The contact has a picture. It seems like I can add contacts without pictures just fine. I'm also losing the edge panel all together from time to time. When I swipe to open it I only see the little gear for settings.

Same thing happens to me, edge panel disappears and I can only get it back by going into settings and switching it off and on. I have several folders containing multiple apps on the edge panel. figured out that when I select an app within a folder, the edge panel immediately disappears. If I select an app that is not in a group, it sticks. If I let it go and check later, sometimes it has magically reappeared, but it's not consistent. This is new with UI 6. I use the edge panel all the time, and it's super annoying to have to reset it all the time.

I'm having the same issue. I use my edge panel constantly throughout the day. Now when i swipe to use it, nothing appears. It only shows the settings cog at the bottom. No panel. I have to toggle it on and off as well. It's very frustrating.

Edge panels are constantly breaking and needing to be reset. This is a fundamental navigational feature of the phone and is currently so broken that it's effectively useless.

This bug utterly destroys the entire core of the UX of the phone as a whole. The lack of response to this problem is also incredibly concerning, and has made me seriously question ever spending money on a Samsung phone again.

Abhorrent lack of QA and the longer Samsung does nothing to fix or address this, the more people will just give up and move away from their brand as they cannot use basic functions of their phone.

Mine too.
It's so much clicking and swiping to get to styff. The keyboard is too sensitive, text is hard to read, emojis look like the has DSyndrome. And they refuse to roll it back. The system looks ugly and finctionality is reduced. My caps lock randomly turns on. Being better than an iPhone isn't saying much.

I'm having the same issue after the most recent software update. The edge panel disappears after I select an app. If I try to swipe where the edge panel normally is, it only shows the settings cog at the bottom of the screen. Each time I have to go into settings and turn the edge panel off and back on, but then I can only use the edge panel app once before it disappears again. I've also noticed that the notifications and permissions in the edge panel are grayed out and will not let me change anything. I tried to change the notifications for the edge panel in the notifications app, but each time I turn that on, it disappears again when I go back to the edge panel app. It simply says the notifications are blocked and there are no permissions granted for that app (with no option to make any changes). I use my edge panel constantly, so it is very frustrating having to go into settings each time I want to use it to turn it off and back on. I hope Samsung fixes this issue quickly!

Also have this issue. Was already on One UI 6, but when I got the Android 14 update is when this started with me.

Rebooted, deleted cache partition, turned edge panels off and on, all of that solves the problem temporarily. I can't seem to find a pattern as to any one thing I do that causes the edge panel to disappear. Sometimes it'll stay active for several hours, other times it'll disappear almost immediately.

One of the most used features on my phone and not having it work is maddening

I had the same problem with the edge panel functions. The fix is to go to that app in the Galaxy store, Uninstall it, and then reinstall it. That did the trick for mine

I've got two Edge panels that want me to unlock my phone even though the phone IS unlocked. My other Edge panels are okay.
So far what I found in lieu of clearing a cache, turning them off and back on in the settings resets them. But it is quite annoying.

My handle keeps disappearing. I keep needing to go into my settings, turn edge panels off, then turn them back on just to get it to show up for half a day. Then it disappears again.
