Unknown symbol on Galaxy S23 Ultra

Does anyone know what the symbol is on the far right that looks like a voice recorder? It appears when I text from my Galaxy S23 Ultra phone. It does nothing when I tap or hold it. It was not there when I first got my phone. I guess it came with an update.

It's for voice notes to send I just tried it long long press and hold should start recording

It's voice recorder/note. Works fine on my S23U.

You might need to update Google Messages and/or clear cache and data.

its for voice notes , if you hold it or tap and ir does nothing then you prob have it disabled or off , you can enable for it to work if needed. i send others voice notes all the time when i cant text lets say while driving..etc
