Samsung messages notification sound

I have the S23 FE.

I am trying to set my notifications for this app to something different so that i know which app it is coming from. I'm seeing all these guides to tell me to to the app settings itself and select notification category but that is not an option for me. What else can I do? I know i can set a sound for a certain individual but thats not what I want.

Not sure it's possible to have different notifications sound for different apps I could be wrong but not something I seen mentioned before

Hi. You'll need to go to notifications in settings, then go to advanced settings. Then scroll down and toggle on manage notification categories for each app. That will bring back the ability to turn on and off notifications for separate categories.

Yes, you can set an individual tone for every single one of your app notifications. I know that if I'm able to with my galaxys20, then you definitely should be able to with a s23 🍀GOOD LUCK🍀

1. Settings> Notifications> Advanced settings.
2. Select the app.
3. Sound and choose your desired notification sound.

I can only change individual messages sounds in my S25 Ultra. It doesn't allow/offered for all messages in Google messages. I've done everything described above. Do you have any solutions?

If you have notification categories turned on and you want one sound for the app (other than for conversations you assigned a different sound to), open the notification categories and tap the item "incoming messages", then assign your sound. The sound you apply here will be the default sound for every message in the app, except those for those conversations for which you have assigned a different sound. If you are using Samsung messages, you would do the same, except the category name is "new messages"
