Message Notifications

I am no longer getting notifications of messages. In the messaging app, notifications are selected, but when I look at each of my contacts under details, it says "notifications from this category are blocked." Does anyone have a solution?

Do you have notification categories enabled? Settings/notifications/advanced settings/manage notification settings for all apps ---> turn the slider on. Then go to your messaging app and select notifications and go to the categories and make sure you have the notifications for incoming messages on, with an associated sound.

If you have your categories turned on, go the the app settings and scroll to storage and delete the app cache. If that does not improve things, reboot to recovery mode and delete the cache partition. Something got confused in your system. Do you regularly reboot your phone to optimize it?
