Cannot answer Whatsapp calls

My wife and I both have S23 phones which are UK phones andfully up-date.The phones appear, under nearly all circumstances, to work as expected.

The one known exception is with Whatsapp. When we received a Whatsapp call, with the phone screen locked, the phone rings but nothing else happens so we cannot answer the call. The usual screen with the red and green button does not appear and no notifications are shown.

I have been told, by the phone, that locked notifications are not available in recent versions of Android.

Is there any solution to our problem?

Did you see if whatsapp faq's have a solution? You can also contact whatsapp customer support. It looks like the phone is working and whatsapp is the problem.
