Printer spooler takes too long to cancel job

I can print one document, but if I need to print from another file after that, the printer suddenly becomes unavailable. I have to cancel the job from the notification, then force stop the spooler, then try again. 😠 Sometimes, I have to restart the printer. This has been happening for a few months.

I have an Epsom Workforce printer and I've updated the plugins & apps.

@CatGymnPaint Sounds like something that you should reach out to Epson support. Epson is not a Samsung product.

Epson not being a Samsung product, that I know, but I was wondering if it could be with the Samsung print plugin.

Do you have a vpn? If so, in the vpn settings, make sure "local network discovery" (or named similarly) is enabled.

The only way I was finally able to get it to work was to install a specific HP Smart plug in in the app store for my printer. It works now but still sporadically

I do have the Epson enabler plugin. And yes, it just works the first time and then I have to do as described in order to print anything else. 🤷

I might check with the manufacturer website too, but at this point it's possible they could end up playing the "blame game".

Are you using the Epson print services or the generic, default print services? I was having a problem like that with HP Smart primt services, but I turned ot off and now only use Samsung's default print services. Settings/connections/more connection settings/printing.

Apparently, I do have one installed, but it's not enabled.

Although this is an HP issue, I reviewed the settings on my Samsung S23 Ultra for my Epson ET-2950 (previously used a SX-445W hence the presence of the Epson printer service) and disabled the Epson printer service leaving the Samsung printer service active and subsequent print jobs ended as you'd expect them to (there was no notification that something was still printing). Thanks to @realaud for the pointer.
