Samsung Messages error "couldn't connect to the network" Verizon network?

There was a update in the Store app for Samsung Messages. After the update I went to turn on the chat settings but got a error. It just keep saying: Couldn't connect to the network. I kept trying it then says:There was an issue updating you to Advanced Messaging.There are a few reasons that might be causing the issue. Has anyone else had this issue. My carrier is Verizon .

Samsung message app is working quite fine with rcs enable on my Verizon s25 ultra

First try clearing Samsung Messages cache if that doesn't help clear data to restart app

Were you using Google Messages before the update if so you will need to turn off RCS Messaging in Google Messages

Hello...so I contacted VZ tech and they weren't able to turn on RCS on 23 ultra.

This is what VZ tech told me:I see that the RCS functionality on Samsung s23
is no longer supported with Samsung Messages
app. Samsung and vzn recommend switching to
Google Messages to access advanced
messaging features as it is the preferred platform
for RCS on Android device.

That's why Verizon ended support for RCS Messaging in Samsung Messages on 1/6/25 they made an announcement a month or two before that

Verizon stopped use if right term of there message i.e message plus and sent notice to change to Google messages if I recall they extended that date but now we are past it

I got these same messages on my Samsung Galaxy S23 with the new update too. I even cleared the cache data & went back into SM & I still got those error messages.

That's what the rep said. My husband has the 22, and his RCS still works with Samsung messages.
