How do I get Samsung Email to stop deleting my emails?

I am using Samsung Email with my Gmail accounts and I would like the Samsung version to stop deleting my emails. I found an earlier response to resolve this, but that option is no longer available unless I'm just not seeing it.

Thanks...yeah it deleted YEARS of important emails I had saved on Gmail. Now just gone. Attachments and documents gone. I know I'm at fault for not saving th e m correctly,but still,losing years of emails.

Are they gone or just hidden? Some mail readers show only the most recently received emails and hide the rest from view. Have you checked the Gmail app to see if your emails are still there? Have you checked the trash? If this is an issue for you, why not just use the Gmail app to read your emails? It very conveniency comes with the phone.

Was it a Gmail account that you have not accessed by logging in directly to the app or online in 2 years? You realize Gmail deleted accounts that have not been signed into or logged into for 2 years recently. That is probably what happened.

Try this. I hope it helps you.

Open Samsung Email and tap the three-lines menu.

Tap the gear in the upper right corner of the menu that comes up.

If necessary, select an email account to manage.

Tap where it says "Email sync period" (I think this defaults to 2 weeks)

If you always want to see ALL of your emails and not just the most recent ones, select the top option that says "All time".

When Samsung Email synced with my Google email, it would delete all my emails on the Gmail side. However I found the all time sync period on the Samsung Email app and that seems to have fixed it.
