One UI 7 Update - Notifications/Panel drop down

I was looking around everywhere to share this feedback with Samsung and I guess this is the only place to do that. I just updated my One UI to 7 and this Notifications/ Panel feature where you pull down from the left for Notifications and right for the panel has me pulling my hair out!!!

There should be an option to flip it. Personally, I view my notifications more than the panel and since I have small hands, every time I try to pull down notifications now, I get the panel. It's annoying and there NEEDS to be the option to flip sides especially since: one, some people have small hands and because of that have a hard time with it, and two, depending which hand is dominant it could be an issue with people that can reach it fine but would rather not reach across the screen for the notifications.

My daughter loves it... BUT SHE IS ALSO LEFT HANDED 😂. She tends to hold her phone in her left hand so the notifications are an easy reach for her and her small hands.

They are a option to switch it back to the old way

Quick Notification settings

Swipe down from the top right of the screen.
Click the Pencil icon in upper right.
Click the Panel settings in upper left
Change the setting from Separate to Together.

Thank you. That is good to know in case I just can't get the hang of it!

The issue is that I actually really like the feature! I am just having a really hard time actually being able to use it (effectively).

At least I can go back to the old way if I get too much of a headache I guess. 😮‍💨

Thank you. I dont know if your title means you work for samsung but this is the most helpful response that I've had to any interaction trying to remake my phone more accessible again.

I hate this. Why would Samsung think it's a good idea to put **bleep** in the way suit constantly having to swipe. I want to turn it off all together and make my phone like it was before but it doesn't seem like I can do that. This is so irritating I want to throw my phone out the window on the interstate.

Search for Live Notifications

Here's what it says:
For Live notifications to appear for an app, Allow notifications, Lock screen notifications, and Show content on Lock screen must be turned on in the app's notification settings.

I did all this, and the notifications show up on the lock screen just like they did before the stupid update.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that hates reaching to the left side of my phone for the notifications. I just went to the panel settings and noticed there's an option to flip it to the right side. Worked like a champ for me. Thanks for posting! 😊

So... I just discovered something that could have been helpful if it had been listed in the update as part of the feature...

If you pull down the Quick Panel by accident when reaching to pull down the Notifications Bar, if you swipe from left to right then the Notifications Bar will show and vice versa (if you swipe the opposite direction with the Notifications Bar open, in empty space not on a notification, then it will move to the Quick Panel). This is kinda cool... and makes the feature much more usable without needing to flip the sides it drops from.

So now I just pull down on the left side and swipe 🤷 Whatever works. Kinda glad I kept it to try to get used to it now. 😊

Omg thank you! That was driving me INSANE! I constantly kept turning up my brightness trying to get to notifications. 😂

Hey, remember when they launched Bixby. OMG, what an annoying app thingie. I was glad back then you could turn it off, I hated it so hard. But now, it seem to be back, It dont get in my way too much, maybe because I had it turned off before I dont know, but I hate clutter. I have bad OCD and dont like to see clutter all over my screens, just the essentials, and necessary Apps, and notifications, when I want to see them. I feel for all the neat freaks out there with all the clutter on phone screens, like on Apple. That is why I got a Samsung, but now, this is turning into an Apple phone. And I hate it. Hate it I say. I guess this now is the war between the foreign companies and American. I still love my foreign company made products, so I guess I have to make the sacrifice and put up with these nonsense they institute.

They should fire their design team and the people who put the patch notes together. What a garbage update.
