Hello, has anybody been experiencing automatic playback from the YouTube music app after having closed the app out? The issue just started a day ago and it won't stop. I've checked the app's settings and everything. Please help! This is getting to be very frustrating and embarrassing at times when I'm at work. The app does cut off when I swipe it away. Or pause it. But as soon as I execute an unrelated action in a different app, music will start playing at random times.

Try restarting ur phone. Usually that works. If it doesn't then see if there is any updates. If not then it would either b a glitch or a malfunction.

YES! Sometimes incredibly loud and in embarrassing situations, such as in line at the grocery store yesterday. I tried YT customer service and got nowhere... please post here if you figure it out & I will as well. I hate the fact that there always has to be a song showing on the bottom of the screen, but this is ridiculous...

Hello @VicDimon, We understand how frustrating it is for an app to open and play without your input. Just to verify, did you go to YT Music>Settings>Playback and toggle off the option to Allow external devices to start playback? This is separate from the Auto playback setting for the YouTube app.

You can also try disabling background data usage to prevent the app from running in the background. Settings>Apps>YT Music>Mobile Data>Toggle off Allow background data usage

Please let us know if this helps.

If the settings are correct, try clearing the app cache and repairing the apps in the recovery menu.

To get to recovery mode:
- Turn off phone
- Once off, hold down volume up and power buttons simultaneously
- When Samsung logo appears, release power button BUT KEEP HOLDING VOLUME UP until the recovery menu appears
- Use volume buttons to navigate down to clear cache (NOT CLEAR DATA/ FACTORY RESET)
- Use power button to select.
- Run the repair apps option and your device will restart.

Another option is to back up the data and reset the phone. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00084702/

Do not auto-restore all apps. Install apps one-by-one testing the phone in between installs to make sure there is not another app causing YT music to open.

We also recommend submitting an error report when the app opens to submit logs to the developers.

If the app continues to open on its own, we recommend reaching out to YouTube for additional assistance.
