topic Signal strength display in car does not update in Galaxy S23

I notice I'm not the only one with a s23 whose phone does not update the signal strength while the display is off on the car radio. I have an A54 that does update the signal so I know the hands free part of the car radio works fine. Has anyone found out if its a setting or hardware issue that makes that kind of difference between the s23/ a54s? I suppose its more of an issue if you live in rural areas with widely varying signals and need to know if you can even get a call or text.
