S23+ Overheat Issues

Hello, I'm new here. If I posted in the wrong spot, don't hesitate to let me know.

My phone keeps overheating with a temp of ~189F when playing non-system-intensive games and it runs constantly at ~65F during system idle. Browsing on Google or Firefox (4 tabs open) tops at ~105F.

All of these temps are with only system background processes.

I am unsure if it's due to One UI 7.0 or not. (I think it is due to the update.)

If anyone has any solutions, please let me know.

Pretty sure the S23 notoriously ran hot. I vaguely remember when going from my S22 Ultra to the S23 Ultra, just after setting the phone up, it was almost uncomfortably warm.

Nonexistent (for me, at least) on my S24 Ultra and now S25 Ultra. You're on a 2.5-year-old, mid-spec S-series phone that just received Samsung's biggest update since One UI was developed. I'm not telling you what to do, but if I were in your position, I'd back up everything important to me through both Samsung Cloud and Google One, then factory reset my phone. This gives the phone a clean slate with One UI 7 without all your previous settings and customizations. See if it still overheats the way it does now. If so, I'm sorry, friend, but there won't be a solution aside from upgrading; and if it's cooler, then cautiously start restoring one section of your data at a time and testing afterward. Settings and preferences are something I wouldn't restore, as they were set for an entirely different Android version and a drastically altered One UI version.

Worst-case scenario, you lose a bit of time and you're back where you started. That's how I'd handle it. Like I said, not advice, but a potential option.

Also try clearing your cache partition like Turkeylips suggested:

Power off your device, simultaneously press and hold the power and volume up buttons, Once the Samsung logo appears, release the power button and your device should boot into recovery mode, use the volume buttons to navigate and the power button to select wipe cache partition and restart your device normally

Also if you download good guardians from galaxy app store than download thermal guardians it will show you what apps are making your phone hot

S22 rebooted and factory reset..trying to get help from account team to see if there is any cloud data thqt can be restored, but I dont know the account because the phone factory reset

Factory reset all by itself that is.. tech support "doesnt troubleshoot this"
