I just upgraded to OneUI 8 and the notification grouping feature is causing problems. I'd like to be able to disable it, specifically for a single app. I am a Type 1 diabetic and use the Dexcom G7 to keep track of my blood sugar level. The Dexcom app sends two constant notifications, one is my blood sugar level and the other is a notification that says "Dexcom app is running." Previously both would be displayed so I could simply hit a button and see my blood sugar. Now the notification with my blood sugar level stacks below the "running" notification so I have to tap the group to see it. This is especially bad if I am very busy or driving and need to quickly peek at my blood sugar level.

The other issue is that on OneUI 7 the dexcom notifications were given top priority and were always at the top of my phone. Now they get pushed down by unimportant notifications such as wifi networks, discord messages, and weather. I had notifications set to priority rather than latest, but I dont even see the option on One UI 8.

Thankfully the emergency alert for low or high blood sugar works fine.

Live Notifications are now pinned to the top and always shown first. If it is not showing at the top, it is because the developer has not updated the app to show as a Live notification.

I would recommend contacting the devs of the Dexcom app and requesting that they update the app for Android 16/UI8 and make the notifications Live.

This is so frustrating for me, too. Whilst my reasons are far less important than yours, I use a reminders app to make sure I get all my tasks done, but now when there are a few outstanding reminders, they're all grouped, so I only see the top one by default, which unless I expand it, makes me completely overlook the other things that I need to do. It may sound like a petty/lazy reason for me, but there should be an option to ungroup notifications somewhere, in this day and age!

Yeah, I have a memory disorder and have a ton of different reminders and notifications for things all throughout the day, and now I can't see the majority of them because they're collapsed into the group. This has completely disrupted my life and productivity

I just got the update yesterday and really hate the way we are forced to now use Notifications the way some developer thinks, rather than the way we think. I too prefer some of my notifications to be ungrouped and some to be grouped. Why not make that an option by app the way other options can be changed?

I have this same concern after my phone updated just recently. There are numerous apps I often receive multiple notifications from. Because of this change in One UI, I can no longer see at a glance what the notifications are, nor even how many notifications I have. Where once I used to see a full screen (and then some) of notifications immediately telling me I had a lot of stuff to deal with, I now might have only one single notification bubble despite having a dozen notifications. I sincerely hope Samsung corrects this issue soon, as it is just yet another user-ignorant change pushing me away from Samsung for any future product.

yeah, forcing this on users was a terrible decision. If anyone from Samsung is reading or cares: Here's the thing, notifications are not in fact useful if you don't see them. Reminders are one of the main things I use my phone for... guess I'm going to have to stop buying Samsung products if I want it to actually be useful.

I constantly keep discarding 'hidden' notifications because for more than a decade one could assume one notification element means one notification, but that's no longer the case thanks to Samdung's devs.

I was looking through the videos of the new ONE UI 8.5 and I saw a Youtuber who was showing the comparison of the notification bar and I noticed that the notifications were not grouped for Instagram (I don't know if is a bug or because is still in beta) , so I'm hoping that in version 8.5 there will no longer be this feature.

Exact same problem with Google calendar (what I use for reminders). I have a daily cute reminder from my wife and it is ALWAYS the top one and I miss any others. I can no longer even use my phone for reminders because of this.

Yeah, I'm probably being picky but it is how it has literally always worked before the newest OneUI. I despise most of the changes they made to "make things easier". Even the search within settings is awful now, why on earth would the search box show up on the bottom when I click it at the top of the screen? I have a tablet, it is so inefficient and silly it boggles my mind the UX team implemented it.

Yeah the UX team is straight up ruining OneUI. I hate that this OneUI8 update came out RIGHT after I decided to give Samsung another chance because OneUI7 had become pretty good. Ruined the productivity aspect of my fold and now I'm just going back to a Pixel--Samaung has lost me (yeah yeah, I know it doesn't matter but I'm mad about it).
