This update makes my phone drain it's battery every minute every minute, before it used to last 1 or 2 days active use, now it doesn't even last an hour, the ui all of it sucks, Samsung really needs to re think there terrible design, they need to fire all people that created this horrid trashy ui

I've had a Galaxy S23 Ultra for about a year and a half. Everything is okay, and I'm satisfied, especially with the great camera, which allows me to take nice, high-quality photos. There is one problem, however: the terrible battery. Unfortunately, for the past few months, the battery has been draining quickly, and its health has deteriorated. A full charge now lasts less than 10 hours, even though it lasted over a day just a few months ago. I've tried to protect it by turning on various power-saving functions, but not only did this not help, the battery life is getting worse.

What should I do to protect my battery? Is a battery replacement necessary in this condition?

Does it tell you what app is taking the most battery usage? I had a problem like this awhile ago with my S24 Ultra and I had to disable a random app that was taking tons of my battery.

Hey everyone,

I recently updated my Galaxy S23 to the latest software version (April 2025 security patch), and since then I’ve noticed my battery draining a lot faster than usual even with light usage.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Cleared cache partition
Turned off background app activity for most apps
Enabled battery saver
Reduced screen brightness and refresh rate

Despite all that, I’m barely getting 4 5 hours of screen-on time, which is a big drop from before the update.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? Any suggestions or fixes that worked for you? I’d really appreciate the help!

Same issue. I've taken extraordinary measures far surpassing the lengths I'd go to prior to update (lie if camping. ) Before the the update my battery could have powered all of California .

I've taken pretty intensive measures to preserve battery life post update. Before the update battery life was never an issue despite streaming and heavy camera & editing. Diagnostics says it's A-ok.

Same, my battery would last well over 24 hours before the update. I'm going to be lucky if I make it through today with a full charge

I was wondering why my phone doesn't seen to hold a charge as long. Now I realize it is because of the latest update. I do hope Samsung is working on a fix. I love my phone and used to only charge it once a day. Now, I can barely go half a day before I have to charge it. Not cool.

Yo what's up with this new update?! I am not even using the phone as much as I normally do today and the battery is draining. Before this new 7.0 update my phone never reached 65% even when using Bluetooth connecting to a speaker during work for a specific amount of time. Right at lunch it would be at 88% Now it is very concerning. None of the apps are draining my phone few are deep sleep and I've cleaned cache and updated everything else. NEED ANSWERS PLEASE!...

Быстрый разряд батареи после установки One UI 7. С момента установки прошло 3 дня, и лучше не стало. Раньше к вечеру оставалось 40%, сейчас 20%. Также некорректно отображается время работы, и в информации о взаимодействии с акб показывает не с последней зарядки, а за целые сутки. Это очень неудобно, и нет возможности рассчитать, хватит ли заряда на тот или иной промежуток времени.

From what I've read with this new update it should take your phone 7-14 days to relearn your usage patterns then it should not drain as fast.

Try wiping the cache partition in recovery. This is a major update. Wiping the cache is a must after big updates.

It will drain faster because right now your phone is moving files, downloading new apps, realigning stuff. Give it a couple of days.
This is normal for a OS upgrade.

What also sucks is the media player... when you play Spotify and turn the screen off till its locked, the media is at the bottom center in a little azz pill size display instead of the original center of screen layout.

Mine is terrible since the update. I used to be able to go all day without charging now I only make it until afternoon. I hope they come up with a fix soon

I have an s23+ and just got update. I've never experienced so many issues with updates in the past. I can no longer change the cult of my folder anymore, my battery drains super fast. I'm recharging at just 4x a day now. Also, the pill doesn't work properly it goes in and out and disappears. Anyone else experiencing similar issues?

It's crazy because my S24 Ultra has always lasted the entire day without a charge. Suddenly it's dying in a matter of hours! I don't know what changed in just the last week, but this is unacceptable drainage!

Have you rebooted the phone since the update? Cleared the cache partition? Cult of your folder? My brain has turned off my typo translator. These issues, though, sound as if they are caused by leftover temp stuff in the cache. Sometimes it's cleared up by a simple reboot, but it's good practice to clear the cache after an update.
