Distorted Speaker Sound after One UI 8.0 Update

As the title says, the sound output on the speakers of my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra have become extremely distorted after the One UI 8.0 update and this issue hasn't been fixed with any subsequent updates. Both high (tremble) and low (base) sounds make the top and bottom speakers crackle. These phones are too expensive for this to be such a long and ongoing issue.

Have you run diagnostics to see if it might be a hardware issue?

Yeah, I have. It was most likely a firmware/system issue as Verizon's most recent update (#39, 12/23/2025) seems to have resolved it. I'll let you guys know if the resolution is only temporary or intermittent.

Unfortunately, the problem has just gone from a persistent issue to an intermittent one. Samsung needs to deploy a targeted fix.

Hi,

I have the exact same issue as the original poster. My Samsung S23 Ultra has terrible sound both on the speaker at the earpiece and the bottom speaker. It is so bad I find it difficult to make out what people are saying in calls. Not great. There is a constant crackle whilst listening to voice or music that makes is impossible to use. The phone has been well looked after, has never got wet or been dropped. This issue started after one of the UI updates so I'm fairly sure it's not a hardware issue. I'm in the progress of factory resetting my phone to see if this helps, but I'd appreciate some support from Samsung that does not involve sending useless links that do not address the problem.

I'm having this issue as well s24+ It started completely out of the blue, I have thought it might be the fact that I only use the speaker for calls and that maybe it just burnt out or was over used. After reading about these UI updates potentially being the problem - I was also just updated to 8.0 not long ago. I'm tending to think that's the problem.
