Samsung its very sad how you can not keep up with the monthly updates for all your previous phones excluding the current year. This is the one thing that apple excels at & so should you. Maybe you should look at releasing phones every other year. I am a Samsung user with multiple devices, appliances, smartthings etc but for the love of god get your **bleep** together man!

Comparing Samsung to Apple in updates is not a fair comparison.

Apple's process: Develop Proprietary software (iOS) for proprietary hardware (iPhone) > Do compatibility testing for ~20-25 models > Release

Samsung's process: Receive base Android update from Google > Modify base Android with all features and appearance of One UI > Do compatibility testing for 130+ models > Release updates to carriers > carriers modify software for carrier locked devices > compatibility testing is performed by carriers > update is distributed by carriers

Even googlenis quicker with thier updates & lets not forget Samsung & google work very closely. Even Security updates for one u.i are slow. What you are doing is making excuses for them for whatever reason I dont know but Samsung is beyond slow with the basic updates. They even have forgotten about updating their tvs. As for me, this will help determine future purchases from them. May I ask are you employed or recieve any type of contributions from them?

Google is faster at getting out updates because Android is a Google product and they support a much smaller range of devices.

You can learn more about the relationship between Google and Samsung here: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Samsung-Apps-and-Services/Why-is-there-so-much-Google-in-my-Samsung/td-p/3464924?src=ShareByUserCM

I am not a Samsung employee and have never received a dime from Samsung or Google. Quite the opposite, I pay outright for all of my Samsung products.

Samsung employees in this forum will always be indicated by the flairs next to their usernames.
