S23 Ultra planned obsolescence

So I guess Samsung's complete failures on the s24 s25 and s26 Ultras weren't bad enough. Now they're going to use required software updates to ruin the s23 ultra with things like removing core features like the wipe system cache and whatever else they're going to do behind everyone's backs.

This way they figure they can force people into just sucking it up and buying one of their newer more expensive downgraded **bleep** phones.

I see no other reason for samsung to remove that feature from the s23 ultra. Worst part is them then trying to gaslight people onto believing their garbage reasoning behind it.

I purchased the s24ultra used it for 5 min saw how bad the screen looked and returned it. Had the s25 ultra in the cart then I realized there was no ram upgrade and cancelled the order. I gave up on the s26 ultra a few months ago because I realized it was another **bleep**ty upgrade. Now I see they are making people pay $1800 for a phone with enough ram to properly run all their mostly useless Ai bloat.

I refuse to upgrade until they quit downgrading and actually return to making quality products that are worth the price they are demanding..

And if they think I'm going to quietly and passively allow them to ruin my s23 ultra. By implementing malicious software updates that destroy the functionality of my phone. Like removing features that I paid for or my ability to maintenance the software. Then I'm going to sue them I may not win but It will definatly cost them.

I hope everyone the feels the same does too.

According to your specifications and demands, looks like you will never buy another new phone. Also, you agreed to the TOC when you purchased your phone or you obtained cell service, so you cannot sue them for software upgrades and updates.

Not all phones provide the ability to wipe cache partition yet people still buy them. I guarantee you that more than 60% of Samsung phone users don't even know how or even care to get to the recovery mode to perform any of the available options.

I am not saying removing it is good but wasting your energy by being upset will not do anything to solve the problem. As you know, this is a user-to-user forum. Submit a feedback report if you want developers to even know of the issue.

"I see no other reason for samsung to remove that feature from the s23 ultra. Worst part is them then trying to gaslight people onto believing their garbage reasoning behind it."

I guess Samsung once again forgot to consult you for their decision making. What "garbage reasoning" are you referring to, because I haven't heard squat from the company.

The wipe cache partition (WCP) option was removed with the February security patch. This is in line with other Android OEMs who have also removed that option from recovery. Seamless updates with A/B partitions make manually clearing device cache after a system update moot.

WCP has apparently also been removed for devices older than the S25 and A55 series, that have traditional cache partition structures. I've seen some speculation that this is because virtual A/B partitions have been enabled for those devices. Samsung, of course, has not confirmed anything, but this approach would make sense.
