I am reposting this to see if anybody has come up with a solution:

Since the recent update my Galaxy s23 cannot keep open an app on the recent apps page it stays greyed out even though an app is not open . The keep open tab is grayed out and what will not allow you to click on it to keep the app open I'm a recent app screen?

Thanks in advance if anyone has a solution!

Check if the app you want to keep open is on the deep sleeping apps list. If it's there, remove it and try again.

We understand that this issue is concerning for you.
This issue could potentially be cause3d by a corrupted cache.
First you should clear the cache partition by turning off your S23, Hold Power + Volume Up buttons until the logo appears. Use the volume keys to select "Wipe cache partition". You can also restart the phone in safe mode to see if a third party app if causing the issue with the phone. You can also make sure that the affected apps are not in deep sleep mode. in order to do this go to Settings, then Battery, and then Background usage limits to check. Feel free to let us know if this helped to resolve the issue.

Thanks for the recommendation. None of the apps are in deep sleep. I cannot get into the white cash partitioned by using the power and volume up button it only gives me three parameters reboot power off in clear data on my Galaxy s23. I'm not sure how else to find the wipe catch partition?
