If you have any apps or your messages app set to where it sends an alert even when DND is on then it's going to give an audible alert because you gave the app specific permission to override the DND and still alert you through sound. There's one thing that cannot be put on DND and that's the Emergency broadcasting alerts sent from the government or law enforcement for serious threats and for Amber alerts for missing children, those are all ones you will get regardless of you setting your phone to DND.

I dont have any apps to bypass DND except my Diabetic app and I still get Samsung notifications.
There must be a glitch in UI 8.0?
