What are you referring to? What are you trying to connect, and are you sure you have the proper cable and/or adapter to accommodate older devices? Also, some devices are just not meant to connect to phones, as the phones don't have the proper hardware to work them.

Samsung started adding security to the usb port after the Note7. So as your usb cable ages it will stop working before any problems can arise. Buy a samsung usb cable or be ready to replace your usb cables as they age. But know some samsung devices will only work with samsung usb cables

Sorry for not mentioning the cache. You will use device care to clear them or in settings go to the apps pick the app clear cache.

You don't need Samsung specific cables, just cables capable of carrying the wattage required. Also, I forgot to mention when connecting devices via USB, make sure you go to the security settings and turn off auto blocker. Having it on will prevent any communication between the phone and external devices via USB. You may also need an OTG adapter if you are using older, less powerful cables or a regular USB to USB-C cable.

The S24 series does not have an analog pass-thru on the USC-C port. If you want to use a USC-C to Audio jack adapter, it has to have the built-in DAC.
