However, upon signup, the offer either failed to apply or was limited to a much shorter trial period — a clear case of misleading or inconsistent promotion.This feels like a bait-and-switch, where the advertised benefit influenced users’ engagement but wasn’t honored in practice. Check your e-mail -- Perplexity sent out the following stating that if you don't add a credit card on file, your account will go back to the free version until one is added.

If you want to keep it, you should be able to add a credit card and regain access through the end of your 1 year trial.

I added a credit card and then was charged. Its now a monthly subscription.

This is a scam!. And Samsung by allowing perplexity to do so, is guilty as well.
