Unlocked s24 ultra does not want to update

Good evening

I have bought a Titanium Blue Galaxy S24 Ultra OFF a seller on eBay and i have it on Metro by TMobile. It works flawlessly except when it comes to system update. it is stuck still on Android 15/ONE UI 7.0 w/SECURITY PATCH April 1,2025.current versions:S928U1UEU4BYD9/ S928U1OYM4BYD9 / S928U1UEU4BYD9

I have no ideal of what this means all i know even when i switch to wifi it still wont update as i suppose to have at least ONE UI 8.5 in beta .

any suggestions please i need this

You most likely have a carrier mismatch. Please post a screenshot of what it says under settings > about phone > software information. Specifically, service provider software version.

Interesting. It seems to be a factory unlocked phone with Metro carrier software. It *should* be getting updates. Have you contacted Metro?

I got a metro Sim card in here . But I contacted them before but I'll try again ina few hours.

If you have access to a computer, you can try using Smart Switch to update. See "software update via Smart Switch on your Windows PC or Mac" on this page:

According to your screenshot the phone is an unlocked model. Do you have anyone with T-Mobile sim card, if yes try that. Normally placing a sim card from a compatible carrier should automatically apply settings(CSC) for that carrier.

i hAVE IT CONNECT to my macbook pro and running smart switch it just reached 100%

It may take a while, depending on how many updates it needs to go through to get current.

People want me to return it for a refund etc but ive grown attached to her.

Samsung /carriers needs to do a better job of this . It's the reason Apple beats them in this department
