Not everyone likes it. Options exist for a reason and Samsung got rid of theirs.

No thank you. I prefer the theme customization of my Samsung messages. If I wanted googles apps I would've bought a pixel.

Yea but it still want change to the themes I set from the samsung themes I download from the samsung theme store. Im sure they'll be better but I want my messages app theme to sync with the theme thats set on the rest of the phone like it does now. Thank you for the information though. It was nice to see theyre trying. It just wont be the same though

I would personally recommend using Samsung's Theme Park app. https://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.samsung.android.themedesigner

It is far more powerful and complete than Galaxy Themes, and yes, theme colors do apply system wide when you create a new theme. This does include Google apps via color palette.

You can also use purchased items from the Galaxy/Theme Store to build your custom themes.

While you can't apply a custom image background to Google messages yet, you can use your theme wallpaper to color match your messages for the time being.

Alternatively, you can use a third party SMS app that currently allows custom backgrounds.

And why would I want to use a third party app when the samsung app works just fine. Your just giving me bad alternatives to alternatives to a bad situation. Ever heard the saying dont fix whats not broken? Rcs texting isnt worth imo. If you want ot be none of our information is private anyway I dont know why people cry about encryption so much. Did everyone suddenly Jong an intelligence agency all the sudden? Anyway. Again I do appreciate your input added thank you. But the real answer is leave whats working fine, to work fine.

I'm going to return my S26 Ultra because I feel like it's becoming too much like Google and not enough like Samsung—it feels like it's losing its magic. I used to absolutely love Samsung, but when I got the S26 Ultra and realized I wouldn't be using Samsung Messages anymore, I was completely disillusioned. I'm not willing to use Google Messages. I'm switching to iPhone—sorry.

Google messaging is a terrible app, horrendous interface, little to no customization, didnt convert my pinned messages so im sol, all my categories are gone so now im sol for work too and will loose business, literally nothing about this app is useful and I want my Samsung messaging back!!! If I wanted to be forced to use Google messaging id have bought a pixel not a Samsung
