Spell check worked briefly, but no longer working

For a brief moment (i.e. a week or so), a red line appeared under misspelled words. It no longer does, although I'm not sure when it "broke". At least a week ago, I think. I've checked the keyboard settings repeatedly, turned them on and off, tried a different keyboard (SwiftKey) etc. etc. It does not work for the on-screen keyboard or for an external keyboard and does not work in any application. However, oddly, I do get a *green* underline for grammar errors, or what the phone thinks are grammar errors. I can manage my own grammar just fine; spelling is another matter.

Suggestions?

Hello, welcome to the Community, and thanks for reaching out. I can see how odd this is, and thanks for sharing what steps you have tried. The first thing I would try is clearing your device's cache partition, which can improve device and application behavior. These are the steps:
- Power off your device.
- While the device is powered off, simultaneously press and hold the power and volume up buttons.
- Once the Samsung logo appears, release both buttons. Your device should boot into recovery mode.

Using the volume buttons to navigate and the power button to select:

- Navigate to "wipe cache partition" and press power.
- Select yes to confirm.
- Navigate down to "Repair apps" and press power.

I want grammar check and spell check on my s24 ultra. It was working just fine. Suddenly after the latest update a week ago, this stopped. How does one fix it? Or will samsung fix it for us in the next update? I triesld everything possible. It's not working in email too.
