I try to search for shoes or a pen and the search shows nothing

Try enabling Circle to search again via Settings > Display > Navigation bar and toggle Circle to search off and then on. However, do make sure Google Assistant is already set up, then go to Settings > Apps > Choose default apps > Digital assistant app > Enable Analyze on-screen images. Try and see if it works. Also, try using the button navigation type instead and use the home button to try searching and see if it works as opposed to gesture navigation.

Uninstall google app from app store it's working in old version. It's not working in new version after update.

restarted the phone, and there is no updates available for Google app.

I'm having the same error- and have followed all the steps and restarted my phone with no luck

Same issue with s24 ultra. Circle to search is enabled in settings and still not working.

Same issue here. Someone was interested in this feature and it was a complete fail when I tried to show it off.

I FOUND THE FIX! Go to:
Settings
Apps
Google
Top right 3 dots-click on uninstall updates.
Then open Play store
Update Google and then try using it. This should show you the tutorial on how to use the function but IT WORKS!!
