A tee tiny keyboard- huh?

In CNN Mobile app and asked HEY GOOGLE a question and it got it wrong so I went to type it in and it brought up this ridiculously tiny small keyboard and stuffed it sorta in the upper right corner of the page?! Can't change the size can't even type the letters are way too small?! I'm like what the heck is going on here? And the keyboard isn't even in the corner exactly, it's like ¼” from top and right?!

I saw this a week or so ago in another app I can't remember which one, but I forgot about it until now. Anyone else notice this same thing? This has to, has to be from last update because I've never seen this ever before. Anyone?

Look at that crazy keyboard . Who can use this! Oh,I think it's YouTube in one of their applications it brings up this crazy keyboard. Oh ya, it's when it's in landscape view! That's right, cause I sometimes make a comment from landscape, mostly on portrait that's why I only saw it like once or twice recently. OMG neverending mysteries

This appears to be Samsung's floating keyboard. To change it, go to Settings > General Management > Samsung Keyboard settings > Mode (about halfway down the page).

Make sure that Floating Keyboard is turned off for both Portrait view and Landscape view.

Hello,

I've checked that because I kind of thought the exact same thing, unfortunately it's not that. Besides, it came up by default with no way to get out of it. See I know it's from an update because that tiny keyboard just happened for the first time recently. And, like here, I send feedback and so I know it's something. The only think I'm not 100% sure of is where this err came from, CNN or Google Samsung. I say Google Samsung only because the same exact sort of thing happened in YouTube when commenting from landscape... only from landscape. If you go to landscape view on YouTube and go to write a comment, you'll see what I'm saying. And if you don't? Well then, it's okay lol lol lol 😆

I wished it was the floating keyboard because I could change it, but it's not that.

Athough I can move that keyboard like the floating keyboard I can't change to the regular size. The only thing I can change in that example is a little enlarge (a real small amount) left and right, or up and down, and I can reposition it anywhere in a margin, but that's it. It's really, really odd. And, it's the same exact issue with YouTube landscape view when wanting to comment on what it is you are viewing. And that's NEW with update

Previously on YouTube landscape viewing, if wanting to make a comment, a landscape keyboard popped up underneath the viewing screen - exactly as you'd expect! I cannot understand their thinking of why this strange change. I know, Jack Daniels! Yeah, good ole JD. 😆 Only fooling

Now that I look closer, the keyboard in your screenshot looks a lot like Google's Gboard (compare it with my screenshot of Gboard from the Play Store). I don't use Gboard so I'm not familiar with its settings, but there might be something similar to the settings for the Samsung keyboard that I mentioned in my previous post.

It is the Gboard keyboard in floating mode.

To be able to change the size, the only way I know is to have "Show Suggestion Strip" On (Text Correction Option), to show the shortcut top bar.

Click on the 4 square option:

Then click on Floating/Regular option.

Yes I am using Gboard, however I changed back to Samsung to try that out and it was the same. I got Gboard from Play as well. If you don't use Gboard then which keyboard do you use? What I've seen, or came to believe, is that this "mini" keyboard had nothing to do with settings on keyboard but has everything to do with the application (YouTube). Getting sage results no matter The keyboard or device which I have 2, albeit Android.

It's really, really frustrating only because I use it a lot.

I'm going to try another app other than YouTube to replicate what the layout of keyboard used to be in YouTube commenting while in landscape. Because landscape is the only time this crazy mini keyboard is like this is. With portrait it's normal looking!

But I have another thing I would love to ask for help with... I want to test something but one would have to:

1). Use Android (I only use Android)
2). Have McDonald's app and registered
3). Be willing to try to process an order (without an actual order, because the problem I'm seeing happens before the actual purchase)

If you don't have these things, do you think it would be okay for me to ask the community if anyone out there might help?

That's strange. Maybe this is some odd little-known function of the YouTube app that affects keyboard layouts? (I don't use the YouTube app. I either use an app called NewPipe to watch YouTube content or else I use a web browser.)

I've only used the Samsung keyboard so far and have had no problems with it.

Okay, so at this point I have to consider this a "workaround." The pop-up keyboard, although the view is perfect, it covers the bottom 2/3+ of the viewing screen and you can't see the screen!

Before they "changed" this design, the landscape keyboard was at the bottom 1/3 of the viewing screen and the movie screenMOVED UP to the top 2/3 and the keyboard DIDN'T cover the viewing screen.

I think before it was a little bit too skinny (head to foot ) and now it's way bigger but regardless of that size, not fully moving the movie screen up on top of the keyboard is nuts. I wouldn't know why "they" couldn't see that was wrong.

Anyway, BuZZi, thank you! Great job for ME. At least now I can type 😃

OMG though I'm finding too many crazy little things that have evolved badly. It's making writing, typing almost not worth it anymore! Getting very frustrated! Seriously frustrated.
