Samsung gallery app crashing

Samsung gallery app won't open and keeps crashing. I have cleared cache and data. It did nothing. Just started.

Ingotbthe recent update, and since then when I open my gallery to look at photos it crashes and closes. But it also doesn't give me an error, it just closes. I have cleared cache, data, and soft reset. Any ideas? We just had a baby and I'd like to be able to send some of these photoa.

This is happening to me, too! I updated it to 6.1.1 and now the gallery won't open, and most of the time, the camera app won't open either.

Mine is doing the same thing, immediately closing out. I thought it was just me. I can't even load in to change a wallpaper.

So, I fixed it. I have sync on so everything syncs between my Samsung devices. I just chose "free up phone space" under gallery sync settings and it cleared the issue.

I can't find the "free up phone space" or gallery sync setting, haha. Is it in the gallery app settings page or somewhere else in settings?

Sorry, "sync with one drive" first then you'll see it

Now that you tried that. Try clearing the cache and data and force stop the app. See if that does anything.

Well, the data wouldn't clear through settings, so I finally went through files and deleted everything out of the camera and images folders. Now it finally opens 🤦‍♀️
