I got a phone(Galaxy s24), apparently it's locked to tmobile. I was wondering since I'm already a tmobile customer with a phone that's unlocked (Galaxy s10e) if tmobile would unlock so I can put my sim in the new phone.

If it is locked to T-MOBILE and you already have T-MOBILE sim card, you should be able to just place sim from old phone to new. It should work.

Locked to a carrier only means that you can't put another carrier's SIM in while it's still locked. You are not, however, prevented from using a SIM from the carrier it's locked to. You may get a text from T-Mobile to confirm it's you who transferred the SIM.

It appears the device is experiencing intermittent connectivity to the network provider. Upon attempting to switch SIM cards, I am presented with an indication that the network is locked. Furthermore, I have observed that the previously removed eSIM continues to be displayed within the device's settings.

I think you will still need to call and activate this device with T-mobile. Only then can you use it use it on their network. To permanently unlock it, you must have it as an active line on T-mobile for at least 40 days.
I know this because I am waiting for T-mobile to unlock my device (tab s10+) and was told it dad to be activated on their network for 40 days. Also, they may require proof of purchase of the device. I hope this helps.

I do believe Congress passed a law after 6 months all phone companies have to unlock the phone. So just try to keep it active for 6 months, which usually is the standard anyway. After 6 months of active, ask them to unlock it.

The phone was purchased in January 2024 and ended either September or October (can't remember what the represenative said) Based on my conversation with a rep, it appears the company may not adhere to this rule without external pressure. I have been advised to obtain a refund for the current device from original seller and utilize those funds towards the purchase of a new model. 😂

The way I read that is that it was temporarily unlocked (for whatever reason) and is not *currently* eligible for permanent unlock. May be ineligible because it has not been active on T-Mobile for the required period of time or because of unpaid fees. In any case, T-Mobile would have to be contacted.
