Possibility of Shrinking Photo Gallery App Menu Bars Top and Bottom of Screen

As the title suggests, I want to shrink the size of the menu bars on the top and bottom of my screen to see my photo clearly when editing/drawing on it. Is there any way to do this? I am not talking about the side bar for the SPen. See sample image below for reference; the menu bars make those sections of the image slightly darker and difficult to edit

If you tap the image while viewing it in gallery BEFORE entering the editing interface, all on screen UI elements will leave the screen.

You can edit in landscape mode, then the menus will be on the side
