Hello

I want as routine to turn off nfc when I close an app is it possible to be done or I am I missing somethig?

NFC is used across multiple apps, if you don't need it for a specific amount of time you can create a routine to turn it off completely. Currently theres no way to turn it off for individual apps through routine.

You don't even need to keep NFC on. If an app uses NFC (like Samsung Wallet), it turns on automatically and then shuts off when not in use. Except for Google Wallet. If you use Google Wallet, you have to turn the NFC on to pay and then turn it off when you are done (not sure if it turns off automatically after a period of time as NFC is not meant to be on when not in use).

On my S23+, opening Samsung Wallet does not automatically turn on NFC. I had to make a Routine to do that.

I can't speak to that, only my own experience. I have never manually turned my NFC on or off on my phone or watch. When I use Samsung pay on my watch or phone, the NFC goes on automatically (I guess, 'cause the payment goes through), and the turns off at some point. When I chance to look in my quick panel, the NFC is always off. The only time I am asked to turn NFC on is when I use Google Wallet, so I don't use it.

I have an A54, previously had an S10 Lite with a watch 4. I have not had to turn NFC on or off with any of them.

This is the solution I thought of just create a prompt with nfc on or off option and then wait certain time and then turns off automatically

Works for now if anybody is interested

Hey, thanks. I just created it and modified it a little from yours, since it seems I have to turn NFC on to use Google Wallet and then also turn it off when I'm done (not Samsung, that takes care of itself). I modified your routine to use Google Wallet and left out the wait time for next action and just used turn on NFC when the app is opened and then used turn of NFC when the routine ends. So my routine is now

So, when I manually close Google Wallet, the NFC goes off.

If the OP has multiple apps that turn NFC on and doesn't turn it back off when closed, then they will have to make a routine for each app.

I have Galaxy S24 Ultra, for some reason I am missing my NFC ICON, even though the NFC is turned ON, it does not show up on my phone, I have just done a update at the T-Mobile store today and the NFC capability seems to be functioning correctly, but alas NO NFC icon appears on my screen anywhere , so the Q: is - does anyone have this same issue?

Edit your quick panel. It is probably one of the hidden icons. Don't forget, both the quick panel and the hidden icons have multiple "pages", so be sure to scroll. It may have also gotten moved to a new position on the quick panel.

Elegant Solution: On my S23 Ultra, I did NOT have to use any Bixby routine to get the prior Samsung Pay behavior back (turn off NFS after use). I simply went into Settings / Connections / NFC and contactless payments. I changed the default Wallet app from Samsung Pay to Google pay. Now when I use Samsung Pay, NFC starts after my fingerprint, and ends after 50 seconds like before. When I run Google pay, I get a prompt to Turn on NFC and can do it from the app. after payment, I have to go into my quick menu and turn NFC back off, but this was always Google pay default behavior.
