S24 Ultra showing different Android versions?

So I got this weird S24ULT. What is this custom build??Anyone have any idea what is going on with this? Kernel says Android 12, Android Version says 8.1.0 , but the Easter egg shows Android 14???? What

Yea I'm from Texas. It's odd. I bought it from a family member who I got my current beast of a Note 10+ from model SM-N975U

The phone specs are lying to you.

This is a phone from AliExpress or similar. It's a fake. They typically come with Android 8.1.

All the specs of the phone are spoofed. Most stuff won't work. Typically only one camera will work as well. Often a board from a different phone entirely.

You could possibly install another version of Android onto it, but the actual specs of the phone are likely terrible. Prob a mediatek processor with if you're lucky, 10gb of storage space and maybe a gig of ram.

Hope you didn't pay a lot for it.

If you want to test to ensure this is indeed one of the fake phones from AliExpress, open the camera app and try changing through all the lenses while covering each camera lens with a finger so you're sure it's using each of the lenses for each zoom mode.

A third party app may be able to read out the real specs too, such as CPU-z but I'm unsure if that will work but ya can try.

The screen on these tend to be cheaper LCDs instead of OLED too so you can fairly easily tell side by side if ya go to a store and compare.

These typically sell on AliExpress or Alibaba for around 50 bucks.

If you are out the money and can't get whoever sold it to ya to buy it back, you might be able to somewhat salvage it's usability if it can at least play YouTube or music. Could install Revanced YouTube and YouTube music with the Revanced manager and leave it in your car purely for music.

I keep an old LG V60 plugged into my car permanently just for music. Kinda nice. Course ya coulda bought 3 brand LG V60s for what ya paid, but finding some usability can help soften the blow.
